When did a series of dots in the middle of a sentence become correct punctuation? I guess i should have paid more attention during Ms D'souza's grammar class.
You talk about a series of dots? One of my PET peeves is people who write things like "b4" "u" "gr8" "wud" "cud" Gosh I could screammmmmm, how much longer does it take to type "you" than it does "u"??? Longer than the amount of time it takes for the reader to decipher it??????? Sheesh.
I tend to talk a lot about everything and anything and the only person who listens to me rant is my poor husband. So have decided to give him a break, and write some of the stuff down.

A series of dots is indeed correct punctuation. It is used to imply an omission in the direct speech to reduce irrelevant material.
My pet peeve (which I found out today):
:) - smileys in official emails after every sentence.
No way, C, people put smileys in office emails!!???????????? hheehehehehehehehehehehehehehe Does this person know what he's doing?
